Bridgestone has been the world’s largest tyre manufacturer by volume for nearly two decades. Founded in Japan in 1931, it bought Firestone in 1988 and now operates 178 factories globally. The OE footprint is unmatched — more new cars worldwide ship on Bridgestones than any other brand.

The range covers every segment with depth. Potenza is the performance line. Turanza is the comfort/premium line, with an EV-specific Enliten compound. Bridgestone — why so many vehicles ship on them OE?+
Bridgestone has the world’s largest tyre manufacturing capacity and the deepest OE relationships, particularly with Japanese marques (Toyota, Lexus) and increasingly American (Tesla, Ford). They can deliver consistent supply at OE volumes — which is why they win factory contracts that brands with less manufacturing capacity miss.
What is Enliten and is it worth it?+
Enliten is Bridgestone’s lightweight, low-rolling-resistance compound now appearing in the Turanza 6 and other models. For an EV driver, it can add 3-7% to your real-world range. For a petrol driver, slightly better fuel economy and longer tread life. Yes — particularly on an EV.
Are Blizzak winter tyres actually worth it in the UK?+
For most Surrey drivers, no — UK winters rarely justify a dedicated winter set, and CrossClimate 3 or similar all-season is a better year-round answer. But if you regularly drive in Wales, the Lakes, Scotland or the Alps in winter, Blizzak LM005 is the best ice-grip tyre money can buy.
Bridgestone Dueler — which one for my SUV?+
Dueler H/L 422 Ecopia for highway SUVs that almost never go off-road (Toyota RAV4, Lexus RX) — better economy, longer life. Dueler A/T REVO 3 for SUVs that occasionally go off-road or tow on grass (Defender, Discovery, X5 used for shoots). Dueler H/P Sport for performance SUVs (X5 M, Cayenne).
How long do Bridgestone tyres last?+
Turanza 6 on a saloon: 32,000-42,000 miles. Potenza Sport on a performance car: 18,000-24,000 miles. Dueler H/L on a Lexus RX: 30,000-38,000 miles. Dueler A/T on a Defender: 20,000-28,000 miles.
Do Bridgestone do run-flats?+
Yes — RFT (RunFlat Technology) variants are standard for BMW and Mini factory fitments. We stock the common sizes.
