About Pirelli

Founded in Milan in 1872, Pirelli is the Italian tyre brand with the deepest performance and motorsport heritage of any premium maker. It has been the sole tyre supplier to Formula 1 since 2011, and is the OE choice on more than half of all new Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and McLaren vehicles built in Europe.

The range is built around three iconic platforms: P Zero for performance saloons and supercars, Cinturato for comfort-led saloons and CUVs, and Scorpion for the SUV and 4×4 market. The 3rd-generation Scorpion launched in January 2026 was developed specifically for the growing 18–22 inch SUV segment, and is now fitted as original equipment on the latest Range Rover, Defender, Mercedes GLE and Porsche Cayenne.

Pirelli's most recent technology investments focus on three areas: Elect, a compound and construction package optimised for electric vehicle weight and torque; Cyber Tyre, an in-tyre sensor that communicates with the car's stability control; and PNCS, a noise-cancelling foam that reduces cabin noise by up to 25%.

Pirelli in Surrey

Surrey is one of Pirelli's strongest UK markets. KT10 (Esher, Cobham, Oxshott) and KT11 are dense with the marques Pirelli supplies at the factory — Range Rover, Porsche, BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, McLaren. We hold popular Scorpion and P Zero sizes in stock at our West Molesey workshop, and we can have anything else from Pirelli's distributor delivered same-day for a next-morning fit.

FAQ

Pirelli — your questions, answered

Are Pirelli tyres worth the extra money?+
For performance cars and premium SUVs, yes — Pirelli is the OE choice on most of these from the factory, and matching that spec preserves handling balance. For a city runaround on 15-inch rims, you can fit something cheaper without noticing the difference. We will tell you honestly which side of the line your car sits.
What is the difference between P Zero and Scorpion?+
P Zero is built for performance saloons, coupes and sports cars where dry-grip and steering feel come first. Scorpion is built for SUVs and 4×4s — heavier carcass, higher load rating, tuned for the extra weight and centre-of-gravity of an SUV. Putting P Zero on a Range Rover technically works but you would lose comfort and load capacity.
What is Pirelli Elect and do I need it?+
Elect is Pirelli's sub-brand for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The compound is tuned for the instant torque of an EV (which wears tyres faster), the carcass is reinforced for the extra battery weight, and the tread pattern reduces road noise — important because EVs have no engine to mask it. If you drive a Tesla, Polestar, e-tron, Taycan or Range Rover P440E, Elect is what we recommend.
Can you fit Pirelli on my Range Rover at home?+
Yes. Our mobile vans carry the right kit for 22-inch fitments and we stock the popular Scorpion sizes for L460 Range Rover, RR Sport, and Vogue. Book a slot, we come to your driveway. Workshop fitting at West Molesey is the alternative if you prefer.
How long do Pirelli tyres last?+
P Zero on a performance saloon will typically deliver 12,000–18,000 miles depending on driving style. Scorpion on an SUV is built for longer life — 20,000–28,000 miles is typical for a Range Rover or X5. The Cinturato range delivers the longest miles, up to 35,000 on a saloon.
Do you do Pirelli run-flats?+
Yes — Pirelli run-flat fitments (typically BMW and Mini factory specifications) are held in popular sizes or available next-day from the distributor. Run-flat repair-vs-replace advice is given honestly: if you have driven on the tyre flat, it must be replaced. If not, a centre-tread puncture can be repaired safely.
Where are Pirelli tyres made?+
Pirelli operates 18 factories across 12 countries. Most premium UK fitments are made in Italy, Germany or Romania. Some entry-level sizes come from Pirelli's Chinese or Brazilian operations. All carry the same warranty and quality standards.
Will fitting Pirelli affect my insurance?+
No — Pirelli is approved on the same tyre-size and load/speed-rating basis as any other manufacturer. We always fit to your manufacturer's recommended specification, which is what your insurer cares about.
